Thinking about that shiny new tactic or technology to get you insane results for your brand?

Don’t.

Thinking about that shiny new tactic or technology to get you insane results for your brand?

Don’t.

Thank me later, but for now, see why:

First, what’s the motivation the company has to sell you their new thing? To make them money.

Next, aren’t you skeptical of their claims, testimonials, and promises? You should be, when the goal is to make as much money as possible, lying is on the table.

You may be thinking, what’s the harm in trying? Potentially huge. Annoying, pissing off, and hassling prospects is no way to build a positive imagine for your brand. Also, you’re putting off doing the things that we all know work.

Instead, do what the best-performing brands I work with do.

Talk to your customers to understand what matters most to them, clarifying what matters most to your brand, and realizing the current brand perception.

Then, set a vision and optimize every day for the aspirational state you have for the brand.

For example, you want to be a $100m brand, but you’re currently at $30m? Start embodying what the $100m brand looks and acts like. It won’t be the same as what you see today.

The dotcom era promised a gold rush.
Martech promised a gold rush.
Now AI promises a gold rush.

And what do we get? A few profit while many lose.

Sure, these tools help us do amazing things, but what works works. No gimmicks, no hype, no hacks, no BS.

Do the work, set a vision, play the long game, and make it happen.
